The Need
Our customer, a leading medical device design house wanted to develop a Hysteroscope device that comes under the Medical device category. The Hysteroscope device should capture and stream video to a tablet over a Wi-Fi connection.
Impacts Delivered
-
The devices has successfully undergone required compliance and certifications and received the required FDA approval
-
Specified video streaming Latency of maximum 150 milliseconds achieved.
-
Full engineering ownership of the product life cycle for a Class-II type medical devices from requirement spec to mass production.
Our Solution
- The system consists of a Microprocessor based PCB which communicates with a disposable camera module and captures video. The video image received are processed and streamed to the tablet over Wi-Fi-Direct (WPA2)
- Video streaming implemented to help in viewing the images from within the uterus in a tablet without any latency and with the required clarity
- The Embedded Linux BSP is customized for the custom hardware, camera drivers are developed, and other peripheral drivers are integrated
- The Processor receives the images over a camera interface, does the required image processing, and does the required image processing
- Only one device is connected at a time to ensure maximum security with a passcode for the Wi-Fi access point (WPA2 Encryption)
- Memory checks are implemented to ensure effective App space utilization.
